Material Handler - Hobson & Motzer : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description Performs activities directly and indirectly related to the movement of material and other items from inventory through the production facility. • Store and retrieve parts and other materials in accordance with established procedures. • Unload trucks and put away incoming materials once they are inspected and accepted. • Handles scrap material and paperwork. • General housekeeping of shop floor. • Maintains loading dock area. • Performs support functions in shipping and receiving departments as needed. • Wraps skids for shipment to outside services as needed. • Properly operates forklift and walk-behind. • Assists with press operation duties as warranted. • Delivers large tools to and from Tool Room as required. • Ensures that all drivers chock their tires. • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards. • Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies. • Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description. Must wear protective footwear that complies with ASTM F2413 & F2412. • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System. • Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements • Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. • High School or Technical School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
