Job Description :
Job Summary: The Material Handler will be responsible for moving materials as assigned throughout the shop environment and will provide support as needed for the shipping and receiving function. Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Loads, unloads, and relocates material as needed per Inventory, Production, Shipping, and Quality Control requirements.
  • Enters and updates data as needed electronically in Epicor ERP System (Inbound / Outbound)
  • Works independently with minimal direction based on need once trained
  • Serves as immediate backup to Shipping Coordinator
  • Takes direction for needed activities from Shipping Coordinator, Supervisor, and the Plant Manager.
  • Ensures products are packed and loaded accurately on trucks.
  • Understands and performs local and international shipments based on procedure
  • Close out trucks when all product is loaded and double check the staging areas for shipments
  • Operates Forklift to supply production lines or move materials, deliveries, and supplies.
  • Receives raw material and verify against packing slip.
  • Keep parts, components, packaging, and supplies in designated areas including raw material
  • Keeps Materials stocked as needed for Operations in designated areas
  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to procure materials, parts, or containers to be moved to appropriate location to support work orders, manufacturing lines, shipping dept, or assigned work area
  • Accurately compares and completes system documentation
  • Identifies damaged material
  • Documents inbound and outbound transactions electronically
  • Correctly associates destinations and shipment types (Fed-Ex / UPS / Freight) as needed
  • Keeps Shipping area organized and cleaned as needed based on direction
  • Assists in monitoring for submitted paperwork to QA for Dock Audits
  • Empty and Weigh Scrap + Entry
  • Returns material from Operations throughout the plant
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication (written and oral)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • ERP Experience preferred
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in shipping and receiving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Time management skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
1st shift hours: Monday - Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm
