Material Handler - swipejobs : Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas. Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh/count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Use computer to enter records. Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.
• Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.
• Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.
• Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
• Morning and evening (1st and 2nd) shifts available.
