Job Description :
Job Summary The Material Handler provides comprehensive support related to the purchasing, storage, movement, and control of materials and equipment. This role is essential for ensuring efficient operations and meeting internal and external customer needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
  • Process and approve all freight invoices through a third-party system; code invoices and upload them into the ERP system.
  • Support the production planning department with job functions based on workload.
  • Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Unload incoming shipments and receive goods into the facility.
  • Manage daily shipping orders and set tasks for the day.
  • Enter data into SAP for closing out orders.
  • Prepare export documents, including hazardous materials and international documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with external vendors and customer service representatives.
  • Handle claims and resolutions as necessary.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Contribute to division results and overall performance.
  • Address internal and external customer needs and expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Experience in logistics, booking, freight, or a similar role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a material handling or logistics role.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Frequent walking, writing, and typing.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull frequently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed, with exposure to temperatures ranging from 0 to 110 degrees.
  • Ability to work in areas with varying noise levels, requiring hearing protection.
  • May be exposed to dust and dirt; work surfaces may include concrete.
  • Proficient in operating a computer and communicating via telephone.
