- General housekeeping to include: sweeping of chips in all process areas and buildings, emptying all trash bins in all plant areas, washing down of process areas, responding to and clean-up of any kind of material that has hit the ground, stowing away all hoses not being used in the correct locations, keeping the roadway clean of trash/chips, and assisting the technicians wherever needed.
- Weighing of all hoppers that have strand waste or dry scrap material to include keeping a detailed count that is recorded daily on the 24 hour waste score.
- Assisting production during time of upsets with diverting strand waste or chip material into hoppers, keeping drums at satellite locations labeled and moved out when full for waste handlers to pick up and putting a new labeled drum in its place.
- Keeping up with all training needs set for forth by Kuraray America Inc. before due date set forth.
- Receiving additive chemicals from Receiving and placed in chemical building in an orderly fashion, assisting with any Cat shipments that will be unloaded in freezer, empty drum shipments, and completing all paperwork for any Roll-Off deliveries of waste material that must be turned into production clerk immediately after shipment.
- Maintaining an inspection report of forklifts, keeping a detailed account to be entered into Material Handler log book, and attending all safety meeting that are held with their shift.
- Record performance of job tasks and status of process area
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates Degree or Certificate in Process Technology preferred
- 3 years of experience in the Petro-Chemical Industry and/or tank farm preferred
- Proven ability to troubleshoot process problems (on-the-job training or college education)
- Equipment troubleshooting experience preferred
- Above average mechanical and mathematical skills
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions in process operations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team
- Ability to work a rotating shift (including overtime) and the ability to physically perform the required operations
- Knowledge of the quality/control plan's standard operational practices, methods, and materials and equipment used in chemical processing
- Ability to routinely push, pull or lift at least 50 pounds while performing normal unit operations
- Ability to climb stairs and work at heights in excess of 100 feet
- Ability to climb vertical ladders
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
