Visit us online at www.rhsheppard.com/careersJOB DESCRIPTION:The primary responsibility of this position is to move skids and load pallets throughout the plant by operating electric floor walkers and hand-operated lift trucks. Incumbent will work under minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Adhere to established safety procedures and 5 S standards Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain the cycle required to perform daily duties in this position, including the proper techniques used in lifting/moving of partsResponsible for moving both raw and finished goods throughout the plant assignment by operating either an electric or hand lift truckRemove chips from machines and move chip carts to empty at assigned chip dock on a daily basisTransport all production scrap and RV's Return to Vendor to proper plant locationProvide all machine workstations with necessary coolants and naphtha to ensure smooth operation of the machinesPull pans, clean coolant sumps, and pump coolants from machines by using sump suckers, as neededClean major spills, dispenses and disposes of floor dry, as necessaryOther duties as assigned; Incumbent is required to be very flexible in their dailyjob assignmentsCORE COMPETENCIES:Action oriented: Demonstrates ability to take action and lead by example. Follows processes and meets commitments.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position does not require any supervisory dutiesQUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GEDBasic MS Office skills Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, TeamsOne year of experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of operating electric floor walkers and completion of forklift certificationProblem solving skillsAbility to prioritize and work well under pressureWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques with emphasis on Standardized Work, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and JIT principlesAbility to work overtime as needed both daily and weekendsWORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, extreme temperature , noise and hazards such as electrical shock or gases. Some outside assignments could involve exposure to adverse weather conditions.
