Hiring multiple associates to join our team due to a recent plant expansion!OVERVIEWThe Material Handler is responsible loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near plant, yard, or work site. Additionally, the material handler is responsible for emptying super sacks and manually feeding sugar to production lines.DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for following work orders and/or verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be movedLoads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, etc. using forkliftMoves finished and raw materialsUnloads and processes super sacksManually feeds sugar to production linesWork effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.May assist with shipping and receiving as neededAll other duties as assignedWORK EXPERIENCES1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment preferredPrior forklift or tow motor experience preferred. Ability to be certified is required.Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsSHIFT/SCHEDULE:Monday-Friday, weekends as required1st shift: 6am-2:30pm2nd shift: 2pm-10:30pm3rd shift: 10pm-6:30amCOMPENSATION:Hourly rate $18.75-$22.70/hour based on experience.
