This role is responsible for shipping and receiving merchandise and executing other distribution center operations. The Material Handler reports directly to the Operations Supervisor. What your day will look like:
  • Unpack and load merchandise onto and off of trucks
  • Follows best practices regarding tagging and scanning of product, ensuring accurate shipping
  • Meet productivity goals and utilizes time efficiently
  • Ensure that our stores and ultimately our customers receive their furniture in perfect working condition

Requirements
  • Willing to submit to physical capability test and background check
  • Ability to perform continuous lifting and moving of heavy furniture
  • Can be counted on to be punctual and reliable for scheduled shifts
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other team members
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Embody an adventure guide; passion for the business, bringing curiosity and innovation to the job
  • Proactive approach; identifies and solves problems
