Job Description Tempel, a Worthington Steel (NYSE:WS) owned company, is a leading global manufacturer of precision magnetic steel laminations for the motor, generator, auto and transformer industries, and beyond. We deliver precision manufacturing, metallurgical analysis, engineering, prototyping and product design, tooling, and value-added capabilities to customers via a global manufacturing footprint. The Shipping & Receiving Material Hander is responsible for the movement and reporting of steel and steel products/by-products throughout the facility. This individual operates a variety of powered lift trucks and cranes. $21/hr. 1st - Monday through Friday 6am to 2pm
- Operates forklift truck to move the materials to the storage area and stock loaded skids
- Fills orders from warehouse stock
- Prepares and packs heavy and fragile parts for shipment in standard boxes or other containers from specified standards
- Selects packing material for protection of product
- Checks against packing list for inclusion
- Applies special labels or stencils as necessary
- Maintains safe practices and housekeeping rules
- Performs a variety of operations within the department to maintain the flow of work
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to work well with others
- Knowledgeable of good safety practices and quality standards
- Basic math, computer and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid forklift truck license
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work environment requires constant alertness of safety requirements and dangers.
- It is climate controlled by weather due to outside exposure while handling scrap functions or transporting between buildings.
- Forklifts are frequently in the area. Some areas may be noisy and/or dirty.
- Must be able to lift and move parts which can weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Managing and manipulating steel banders.
- Good hand/eye coordination for use of forklifts and cranes.
- Bending during packaging operations.
