Job Type Full-timeDescriptionBetter Body Foods Massachusetts, located at 74 Fairview Street, East, Greenfield, MA is searching for a team member to join us as a Material Handler. Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pmPay: $19.00 per hour Key Responsibilities•Drives company truck; shuttles product to our distribution center in neighboring town when required•Prepares outgoing shipments; picks and palletizes orders; verifies order accuracy and labeling; generates outgoing paperwork •Prepares pallets for shuttle transfer•Responsible for inspection of all incoming purchase orders of materials and raw ingredients •Ensures FIFO practices of raw materials; labeling, handling, organic segregation and safe allergen storage protocols•Picks/Kit's all ingredients and stages for production use; keeps pick locations stocked with raw materials or packaging materials•Maintains an effective and orderly warehouse environment and cleanliness RequirementsKnowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements•Minimum of a High School diploma, GED or additional training required•Must have a valid MA drivers' license•Prior warehouse, inventory and fork truck experience required•Must be organized, proficient in basic math, prior experience with MS office and excel•Ability to read and write, converse and follow instructions in English•Must have time management skills, have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team•Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and problem solve are essential to this positionPhysical Demands/Condition Requirements•Environment: Including but not limited to production, warehouse and office areas, movement throughout the facility•Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50-pound bags to shoulder height and carry for short distance; must be able to lift up to 10,000 pounds over the course of an eight-hour day. Walking, stooping, lifting, sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, and crouching are essential to position. Must have ability to operate in seasonal temperature variances in unheated and non-air-conditioned areas of the facility•Equipment Used: Including but not limited to electric and manual pallet movers, fork truck, automated pallet wrapper, computer, calculator and digital scale.Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skill and ability. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitude to perform each duty proficiently.
