* The Material Handler and Operator will be handling our bag dump account and must pass a respiratory fit test*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate and maintain equipment used for bag dumping processes.
- Unload, open, and empty material bags into designated hoppers or containers.
- Inspect bags for defects or contamination before processing.
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of material batches.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure compliance with quality standards and operational procedures.
- Efficiently pull and prepare (pick) customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Safely and efficiently unload inbound shipments and move products to storage locations and efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
- Repack and weigh any orders that require such handling when necessary. Report quality variances and handle the sub-standard product as requested.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances and handle the sub-standard product as requested.
- Operate forklift and/or stand-up reach truck and/or box clamp and/or skid steer in performance of order filling duties when required. Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment as required
- Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years of experience in using a forklift in loading and unloading products in a warehouse setting.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Ability to maintain, service and operate warehouse machinery and equipment.
- Basic understanding of material handling equipment and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Experience in a warehouse or industrial setting preferred.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and PPE usage.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and recording.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work is physically strenuous, and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
