Job Description

Role Summary

Responsible for prototype material inventory, including check and flow of incoming, outgoing, and work in progress material.

Incoming Material

  • Verify that all required documentation has been received with material.

  • Maintain a consistent/timely flow of Prototype material.

  • Utilize and enforce the Prototype Value Stream and Material Movement Procedure for processing material

  • Utilize and enforce the Prototype Scrap Procedure for suspect material.

  • Engages Engineers, Prototype Program Team and Quality in processing suspect material.

Inventory

  • Verify that all required documentation has been received with material.

  • Perform subjective checks of material condition, verify part number, quantity etc.

  • Owns all Prototype material, responsible for Physical Location of material in and out as well as Physical Inventory.

  • Creates Build Kits, owns work in progress and Hold material.

  • Utilizes 8S in Housekeeping of Supermarket and surrounding areas

  • Ensures ESD sensitive material is handled and stored appropriately.

  • Utilize and enforce the Prototype Value Stream and Material Movement Procedure for processing material.

  • Drives and enforces the Prototype Scrap Procedure for suspect material.

  • Drives proper storage and handling of material and maximizes storage utilizing the Prototype Obsolescence Procedure.

Outgoing Material

  • Perform Outgoing Checks including part to print verification, part number check, quantity etc.

  • Package material and paperwork for shipping

  • Handle scheduling pick up of material

  • Move material to be shipped to warehouse

  • Management of Outgoing packaging material inventory.

  • Complete Customer notification requirements.

  • Completes Build Package Review and hands off to appropriate team.

  • Other support to Prototype Team and Material Management Team as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing and/or comparable technical education preferred

  • Familiarity with material movement and inventory

  • Using Bill Of Materials (BOMs) in order to determine part content of assemblies or test samples

  • Familiarity with design and technical features of mechanical and electronic products

  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software and capability of learning other software packages (Ex: SAP)

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Aptitude to manage multiple responsibilities

  • Solid interpersonal, communications and listening skills

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift/high load training

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing assembly environment, which could include standing for the majority of the day.

  • Responsibilities include the need to lift, carry, push, and pull material weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Ability to support working hours 7:30am – 4:30pm and flexibility for overtime based on delivery demands

  • On-site support required 100%
