Check fluid levels and change rollers throughout conveyor system. The person filling the Material Handling Position will report directly to the Supervisor.These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with Savage:Starting Pay: $27.98 per hourLocal work, home every day.A culture that appreciates our Team MembersUniforms and laundry servicePaid Time Off (“PTO”)Paid holidaysProfit SharingExcellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k)A culture of safetyA commitment to helping our Team Members do things that they never dreamed possible.ResponsibilitiesMaintains cleanliness of conveyor system to transport dry bulk productsShovels coke from areas around sump pumps and under conveyorChecks and maintains fluid levels throughout the conveyor systemChanges rollers in conveyor systemCompletes and maintains accurate records related to all maintenance activities in conveyor systemLifts approximately 0-50 lbs. occasionallyLifts approximately 0-25 lbs. unassisted and regularlyClimbs stairs and work at various heightsOther duties may be assignedQualifications/Requirements:Must meet refinery standards for entering the plant, i.e. clean criminal history, ability to pass a drug screen, and possess a Current and TWIC card at the time of applicationHigh School or GED18 years of age or olderMust be able to pass Torrance Refinery site specific training on an annual basisThe ability to work from written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rulesMust be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of othersAble to work overtime as requiredCan follow all rules and procedures as outlines by SavageFor safety reasons, must be able to read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in EnglishPhysical Requirements:Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, including weekends. These positions require the willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climbing stairs, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in an environment containing coke dust and in hot, cold, and wet environments. Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position. A significant part of each shift will be spent washing down equipment with a 2” fire hose.
