What You'll Do in This Position
Maintain good working knowledge of the Material Management System.Obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license, site forklift operator's license therefore demonstrating the operating capability of equipment ( i.e., models 38, 60, 113,162, & 41-4d, etc.) as required.Perform visual and operational equipment inspections and document on appropriate checklists daily.Complete job related administrative forms daily or as required.Work in a safe manner, notifying supervision of any unsafe conditions/acts or damage to government/company equipment and property.Responsible for effective implementation of the QA programs within the limits of job assignment.Maintain good housekeeping within assigned work areas and as directed.Work in a manner to strive toward self-management and promote group management among co-workers.Work in a labor capacity when dictated by job requirements or supervision.Verify the material, quantity, and description on the appropriate paperwork matches the material prepared for delivery.Become familiar with and work in accordance to site, mail service, and Asset Management safety procedures at all times.All other duties assigned by supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Excess Operations:Maintain a good working knowledge of the Material Management System.Inspect and inventory declared excess material prior to acceptance and processing.Maintain forklift operators qualifications.Assist in tagging all excess items and assign location for commodity storage.Assist with the identification of applicable federal supply codes and declaration numbers upon receipt of excess equipment.Perform computer input for initial and subsequent location changes.Perform physical inventories of excess items.Research inventory discrepancies / differences.Ensure all materials handling equipment (including the bobcat and forklifts) is checked every morning and the inspection checklist is completed.Responsible for the accurate disbursement of excess items.Maintain housekeeping daily within assigned work areas to include yard areas.Responsible for commodity receipt inspection to ensure compliance with excess and salvage procedures.Ensure that all incoming materials are accompanied with an accurate and complete Documentation.Escort personnel when necessary.Complete all documentation on material received.Ensure all employees work in a safe manner.Coordinate wood and rubble pan emptying with appropriate groups on an as needed basis.Process receipt and shipment documentation for salvage/recycle materials.Coordinate all salvage/recycle shipments.Comply with storage requirements for salvage/recycle commodities.Weigh out scrap metal trucks and complete required documentation.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Inventory Management Positions:Perform physical inventories of all inventory-stocked materials on site under Asset Management control.Help identify inventory items with incorrect Material ID (or possessing no marking at all) by close coordination and communication with proper support groups.Maintain forklift operators qualifications.Research inventory differences identified to Inventory Management before input of inventory adjustments and location changes.Work closely with Receiving and Inventory Warehousing to resolve inventory issues.Conduct special project relocation requiring material identification, quantity verification, item packing and disbursement for unique programs (i.e., excess).ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Bulk, General Outside Facilities, Spare Parts and Other Warehouse Inventory positions:Maintain forklift operator's qualifications.Verify the following: -Material meets the description as noted on the delivery ticket and the database description -Quantity of material matches quantity noted on the delivery ticket, -Material is not damaged by visually inspecting.Return any discrepant material to the receiving group for reconciliation.Reconcile any quantity difference with the receiving groups by notifying the appropriate personnel and completing the necessary documentation to ensure that accurate inventories are maintained.Label all incoming material per the Asset Management Implementing Procedures as specified on the delivery ticket or other documentation.Handle all material in a way that the material is not damaged and will satisfactorily perform its intended function.Provide adequate packaging / wrapping to ensure material is stored or delivered safely to the customer.Stock material in the designated storage location as determined on the delivery ticket or in an acceptable alternate location as determined by the supervisor.Update Material Management System to reflect the appropriate locations.Charge out items and process to the customer delivery areas.Coordinate with QA the re-verification program of items in stock.Coordinate with Inventory Control the adjustment findings associated with identified inventory discrepancies.Interfacing with customers to enable reconciliation of issues in a timely manner that reflects a total quality atmosphere and guarantees customer satisfaction.Monitor storage condition of assigned facilities to ensure compliance with the Asset Management Quality Assurance and Safety Programs.Be responsive to the needs of the customer and offer the assistance necessary to aide the customer in obtaining the material necessary to complete the job.Document and forward all identified inventory discrepancies to the supervisor for reconciliation.Relocate materials and equipment as directed.Load outgoing or unload incoming shipments as directed.Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for supervision as directed.All other duties or activities as assigned by supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Mail Service Positions:Pick up and delivery of inter-site classified documents.Process outgoing classified documents.Operate the following equipment:- Postage meter machine- Mail management system- Federal express power ship systemProcess all outgoing U.S. Postal Service mail:- Affix appropriate postage- Endorse appropriate markings- Prepare express, registered, and certified mailProcess all incoming express mail.Process all outgoing FedEx mail.Maintain delivery records of express, certified, and registered mail.Produce monthly, quarterly, annual mail management reports.Must be knowledgeable of U.S. Postal Service Domestic and International mail manual regulations, and DOE Mail management Order 1410.2B/Other duties as assigned by supervision.
Security Clearance Information
SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. Qualifications We Require
High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential. Candidates must have completed ACT WorkKeys Skills assessment and achieved minimum scores of 2 in Workplace Observation, 3 in Graphic Literacy, 3 in Applied Math and 4 Workplace Documents. Test scores must within the last five years. Official transcripts must be provided to the company for considerations of employment. Capable of handling 50 lb. packages and wearing necessary protective clothing to perform essential job functions. Maintain a valid state driver's license.
