Material Handler LeadLocation: Annie P Henderson Dr Social Circle, GA 30025New!! $1,400.00 SIGN-ON BONUS19. + depends on the experience.Department: OperationsReports to: Director of MaterialsJob Summary:Leads the incoming, storage, and delivery of materials throughout the warehouse and production lines. This role will motivate, measure, maintain, and sustain the performance of warehouse material handlers to ensure that physical material flow is scanned in JDE. Ensures the safety within the warehouse by proper storage of material.Essential Functions:
- Leads a team of Material Handlers with daily team meetings ensuring that goals are communicated.
- Perform both the physical inter-departmental transport of materials in the warehouse and in JDE as they occur.
- Creates and sustains the Move It, Move It culture to build confidence that what is physically moved in the warehouse is trusted as entered into JDE.
- Avoid all negative inventory by detecting through the receipt of the negative inventory location report. Fixing the defect by confirmation that material is both transferred correctly from location to location and as production reported to the Work Order in JDE.
- Drive the staging, in a timely manner, of necessary materials to both keep production lines running and more specifically by builds to optimize performance of complete and on time deliveries.
- Communicates any issues or delays in the staging pick of production which will impact shipments so that additional planning can be set.
- Communicate inventory discrepancies quickly and effectively.
- Increase inventory accuracy by receiving the daily rotating cycle count by location and P/N's, distributing amongst designated Counters/Material Handlers, and receipt back of counts forwarding along to Materials Management.
- Perform Audits of inventory accuracy to ensure Material Handlers are doing transfers.
- Identify any and all material in the warehouse which has been incorrectly stored in an unsafe condition and fix the problem immediately.
- Drive the consolidation of multiple locations across the warehouse of the same parts both physically and in JDE.
- Avoid JDE inventory within bulk locations including S.STOCK (historically used as floor location, however, empty rack locations are available and must be utilized)
- Provide proper coaching to motivate the workforce and increase retention.
- Identify a systematic approach of signing in/out scan guns to Material Handlers daily to set accountability of who is moving what material with what timing.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure all employees are properly trained in their functions.
- Cross-training to ensure backups are in place.
- Provide feedback for warehouse layout and optimize storage capacity to build the Visual Plant.
- Lead warehouse sanitation/5S activities.

- Experience in a warehousing, distribution or shipping environment
- Prior experience leading people in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Must have good communication skills.

- Ability to resolve crisis and make quick decisions.
