Responsibilities
- Issue weekly component releases to suppliers, monitoring accuracy, quantity, due date, and required lead time.
- Monitor daily Supply Chain Coverage Report and Balance Due Report, making necessary arrangements for on-time delivery of material shipments. Provide corrective action plans to the Materials Supervisor for any delivery concerns.
- Maintain frequent contact with suppliers regarding part release information, weekly reconciliation, and resolution of problems.
- Develop supplier performance strategies via DMR processes, MQR processes, and Supplier Corrective Action Plans.
- Perform daily cycle counts of inventories, reconcile discrepancies, and provide corrective actions for resolution.
- Analyze MRP data to proactively identify issues affecting Supply Chain Performance Measures.
- Review and maintain daily ASN Report for receiving accuracy and timely entry into the Inventory System.
- Establish and track Freight Plan(s) to support production requirements, communicating updates to Management.
- Provide Corrective Action Plans for issues adversely affecting Plant Performance Measures.
- Assist in conducting physical inventories as necessary.
- Establish Visual Inventory Parameters supporting 5S practices on the plant floor.
- Provide daily updates to KPI in areas such as Inventory Valuation, Inventory DOH, Cycle Counts, and Inventory Accuracy.
- Submit daily Summary Reports to the Materials Supervisor or designee for staff meetings, reporting any hot parts or supplier past due issues.
- Maintain Delivery Matrixes to the Receiving Department to ensure timing and frequency of deliveries are tracked and communicated.
- Maintain daily contact with Domestic and International Carriers to monitor delivery performance.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Materials Supervisor.
- Have the authority to stop the production process if quality concerns are detected.
Qualification/Requirements
Basic knowledge of a Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system; automotive experience is a plus.
Reporting Relationship
Reports to Materials Manager.
Education Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Working Experience Required
Two (2) to three (3) years in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of the shipping and receiving process.
