This position is responsible for the management of our all our warehouse operations, shipping, receiving and material movement. They will be the lead for our material logistics.
Responsibilities
- Manage all warehouse and logistics activities and teams across multiple locations.
- Manage team deliverables, to ensure the successful execution of the strategic critical success factors related to
Inventory
- Utilize system improvement, and location accuracy to increase the overall accuracy of inventory.
- Closely manage inventory usage to minimize scrap and disposals and any last time buys.
- Create and drive a disciplined FIFO program.
- Perform daily review of inventory storage and handling activities.
- Responsible for material distribution for manufacturing support
- Conduct periodic spot check of physical inventory and generate appropriate reporting.
- Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
Freight
- Manage appropriate freight expenses and accurately charged back to customers and/or internal cost centers.
- Manage 3PL accounts for all outbound freight.
- Responsible for logistics coordination for carriers used for shipments.
On-time Delivery
- Through robust process execution ensure that delivery targets are continuously achieved for all customers across our business units
- Report daily delivery execution and undertake root cause for any late shipments.
- Manage communication with sales on all delivery issues affecting our customer's, ensuring information is accurate, clear and timely.
Equipment Safety
- Maintain forklift daily check sheets for forklifts and electric pallet truck.
- Manage TPM targets for forklifts and electric pallet trucks.
- Develop and/or enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment.
- Validates that all drivers are authorized, and have completed any required, training, certification and for company vehicles are registered on the companies MVR program.
Other Activities
- Actively support Critical Success Factors relating to material and delivery
- Drive a “Place For Every Part”: our 6S system on the plant floor
- Responsible for the development of job descriptions, training, evaluations, coaching and performance counseling for all the warehouse, materials teams.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in the following fields or equivalent experience
- Business (with a focus on supply chain), system or industrial engineering
- APICS certification or equivalent educational certificate
Experience
- 5 - 7 years warehouse experience in a management role
- Understanding of MRP / ERP planning concepts
- Experience with MRP / ERP Systems, JD Edwards E-One preferred.
- Strong supervisory and communication skills
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding, and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of inventory planning methods, root cause analysis, ABC logic, fixed and random location systems, and logistics.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology and tools a plus
- Experience with 6S programs.
