Materials and Process Intern (Summer 2025) - joby aviation : Job Details

The Materials and Process Team seeks an intern to support characterizing structural materials for our e. VTOL aircraft. This person will work closely with other engineers on the team to provide hands-on support with various R&D projects. We expect the intern to take some level of ownership but will provide support and guidance to allow them to grow and be successful in a fast-paced, engineering- focused environment. We are looking for an intern for our M&P lab located in Marina, CA. Responsibilities Support M&P engineers in lab work (perform layup of composite prepreg laminates, perform mechanical strength and thermal analysis testing, perform cross-sectional image analysis), material research, and development. Help to compile test summaries and material & process specification. Design, develop, and conduct developmental trials to optimize the manufacturing process.
