Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Materials / Composite Engineer to join our client's team in Newberry, SC. In this role, you will focus on driving product innovation, improving manufacturing processes, and optimizing production efficiency. Resin expertise is necessary for this role.

What You'll Do:

  • Design & Development: Develop and optimize tooling, machinery layouts, and pultrusion line designs to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
  • Material Selection: Evaluate and select composite materials based on mechanical properties, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Process Optimization: Refine pultrusion processes to ensure consistent quality and high production rates.
  • Testing & Validation: Perform experiments and tests to validate designs and ensure compliance with performance specifications.
  • Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, quality assurance, and R&D teams to implement design changes and improve processes.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to equipment, processes, and product quality.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization while maintaining product integrity.
  • Market Analysis: Research industry trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes to keep products competitive and market-relevant.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Composite Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience in composite engineering, with resin and pultrusion process expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of composite materials and their properties.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and design tools.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, quality control, and process optimization.
