Required to deliver all newly received materials and equipment from central receiving to University Departments and offices. Provide support and expedite all departmental office moves including extended campus at Whiteman AFT, and Nursing Department in Kansas City, Missouri. Responsible for the pick up and delivery of all non-expendable declared surplus materials to the surplus lot. Provide support and expedite equipment moves for summer groups utilizing university facilities. Will support all main campus set-ups for University functions, groups, programs and events. Examples of DutiesPrepares all residential halls with serviceable room furniture prior to school opening for student occupation at school opening: - 20%
- Responsible for inspection of all residential hall rooms and identify dilapidated, broken or missing furniture, to include beds mattresses, desks, tables, chairs, dressers, etc;
- For Loading/unloading vehicles and providing for transportation of repairable furniture to the repair shop; replacing broken and non-repairable furniture with university stock from storage locations;
- assembling bunk beds, desks, dressers, and other furniture items.
- Supports job request from students for furniture change out during the school term.
- Maintains furniture storage areas.

- Supports state owned non-expendable property surplus auction.
- Must read and interpret declaration of surplus property and acquisition of surplus property documents;
- Responsible for loading, unloading, securing, and transportation of surplus property to the surplus lot; will deliver purchased surplus property from the surplus lot to university departments.

- Provides support to summer groups that utilize University Facilities for camps, conferences, and summer events.
- Must read and interpret contracts developed by the Office of Facilities and Conferences to support event set-ups.
- Will be required to deliver or move supplies, materials, furniture and equipment to support various groups; distribute linen in bags and/or carts up as many as five (5) flights of stairs.

- Supports all University Set-ups. Delivers equipment, materials and supplies to event set-up locations;
- Assemble, monitor and dismantle set-up events, programs and functions;
- Provides support to contracted light and sound productions such as Premier Performances, Boys State, Girls State, Various Dance Studio Productions.

- Provides equipment such as two wheeled and four wheel moving truck dollies; tools for disassembling and assembling office furnishings from one department office to relocate in a different area or building.

- Delivers all freight, packages, and overnight deliveries from the Central Receiving Dock to all University accounts.
- Responsible for reading delivery distribution tags; loading and securing materials onto trucks for transportation; delivering and unloading freight, packages and other materials to various departments.

- Assists with maintaining the Physical Plant Warehouse.
- Issues materials and supplies from the warehouse;
- Assists with the annual warehouse inventory; operates vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required; assists with custodial cleaning, sweeping, dusting, straightening and general care and clean up of the warehouse and various university storage areas, and other areas as necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Typical QualificationsEducation:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
- One (1) year experience loading, unloading, securing equipment onto trucks or general materials handling required.
- Six (6) months general warehouse experience preferred.
- Six (6) months in the areas of lighting and sound set-up experience preferred.

This position currently works Monday-Friday 7:00 am -3:30 pm. Occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
