Summary You will serve as a Materials Handler in the Logistics Division, Mission Support of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE. Responsibilities You will determine cause of loss or damage to material in transit and research responsibility for the damage. You will maintain material deliveries or material storage areas to prevent loss or damage to material or equipment. You will research packing slips or documents with insufficient information to process the material for movement to end-user. You will maintain records and document actions on inventory. You will label materials for identification or tracking purposes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is:1) Moving material throughout the facility using material handling equipment (hand trucks and manual dollies); 2) Reviewing shipping documents; and 3) Utilizing basic tools (e.g. hammers, screwdrivers, manual dollies, stretch wrapping rolls, and tape fasteners) in support of warehousing duties.
