**The Role:** Xylem seeks to hire a Materials Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all facets of supply chain from receiving or raw, WIP components to the production and shipment of finished goods. Manage the demand and the production of finished goods, which includes the planning, forecasting, scheduling, purchasing and inbound and outbound material movement to support production, customer service and inventory dollar goals. Responsible for delivering year of year material productivity working with Xylem Global Procurement team.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Maintains consistent leadership for materialsplanning and inventory controlpersonnel, including performance management and teamdevelopment.(Team of ~60 employees Direct/Indirect)
+ Developsand manages critical performance goals (material availability,inventory, turns, inventory accuracy, supplieron-time delivery,planner on-time releases, cycle time reduction, Gross Material Productivity, and PPV)and translates the goals into performance expectations for materialsteamand forecasts for finance.
+ Leads, manages, and directs all materials related processes - including S&OP,delinquencyrecovery actions, demand management,production control,business information systems and supply chain process improvement activities.
+ Identifies material planning, MRP, andkanbantraining deficienciesboth within and outside ofmaterials team; Facilitates education and development sessions; Drives best practice implementation throughout materials team.
+ Assures appropriate ordering parameters and vendor expediting actions are in place for the business to meet its goals and excel atontime delivery to our customers.
+ Prioritizes IT efforts in developing information and systems for Operations team.Critical team member on MRP/ERP improvement projects.
+ Serves as liaison with other business processes (finance, customer service,engineering,marketing, salesand procurement) to assure business goals are met.
+ Effectivelydelivers the strategic vision for materials management,both internally and externally to the business.
+ Responsible for controllingpurchase order execution for the facility.Ordering the right amount of material to satisfy customer demand, while protecting the company from excess and obsolete inventory whenever possible.Responsible for developing accurate inventory forecasts, using all available business data during creation.($245M/yrSales, $135M Direct Material Purchases, $15M Indirect Materials, and $40M inventory)

**Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:**
+ BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
+ APICS CPIM (required)
+ Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Lead Master certifications (preferred
+ 6-8years Operations/Materials experience
+ 4years Leadership experience (Experience in High volume MTS and low volume CTO product preferred)
+ Current computer skills (Microsoft OfficeAdvanced Excel user preferred,Visio,BusinessObjects,etc.)
+ MRP / Kanban experience (ERP-LX or BPICSpreferred)
+ Demonstrated leadership and management skills,including ability to effectively coach, motivate,empower, develop and evaluate employees.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.(preferred)
+ Strong interpersonal skillsand ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers.
+ Effective verbal/writtencommunication and presentation skills.
+ Strong bias for action, and effective change agent.
+ Proficiency in managing and facilitating teamsthrough problem solving and conflict resolutions.
+ Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
