ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:The Materials Manager directs, and coordinates activities concerned with the production of titanium products through direct interface with customers/vendors and in-house personnel. This role involves managing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers' delivery requirements. Coordinates plant production activities with procurement and manufacturing departments.
- Balancing supply versus demand each month; identifying areas where the segment is out of balance and proactively recommend options/scenarios to align across functions
- Coordinating and aligning with Factory Leaders to understand the rough-cut capacity of assets by product family
- Managing the standard product process; this includes leading the identification of standard products, reviewing non-standard products, and monitoring and reporting compliance to the standards product catalog
- Address product mix issues in effort to maintain customer schedules while reducing inventory inputs
- Maintain existing capacity models and drive a transformative design
Essential Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:
- Communicates with Commercial/Marketing team concerning requirements, talks with them regarding other customer service-related concerns, and answers any other questions.
- Acts as liaison between Howmet's customers and manufacturing and support teams. Communicates customers' requirements and concerns. Acts as the customer intermediary to ensure specifications are met and delivery is timely.
- Develops master schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or orderbook.
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Ensures item master and BOM accuracy in the manufacturing system to drive accurate MRP data.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Coordinates delivery schedule and other supply chain activities
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems based on synchronous manufacturing principles.
- Prepares production reports as required.
- Analyzes physical inventory and works in a cross-functional capacity to enhance inventory turnover
- Participates in activities around annual physical inventory.
- Oversees the raw material line of balance process

QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Engineering, Business Administration or related field from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years minimum experience in plant operational management and/or an equivalent large segment of a business.
- Excellent communication skills (presentations, verbal and written)
- Highly knowledgeable with production planning concepts such as MRP, MRP II, ATP, CTP etc.
- Thorough understanding of Budget responsibility
- Exceptional analytical and conceptional thinking skills
- High level of competency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years-experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
- Heavy manufacturing experience
- APICS CPIM/CSCP certification
- Master's degree from accredited institution
- Experience in an organized (Union) environment
- SAP experience
