**Job Description Summary**As a Materials Specialist, you will combine your expertise in materials management with project management to lead the seamless execution of projects from concept to completion. You will be responsible for managing material procurement, inventory control, and supplier relationships, while ensuring that project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Your ability to lead cross-functional teams, optimize material flow, and resolve issues proactively will be critical in delivering projects successfully.**Job Description****Roles and Responsibilities**+ **Project Management:** Lead the materials management aspect of manufacturing projects, ensuring materials are available on time and within budget for each phase of the project. Oversee project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers.+ **Material Planning & Coordination:** Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to understand project material requirements, ensuring that the right materials are sourced and available when needed to avoid delays.+ **Supplier Management:** Work closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules. Manage relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, and handle any supply chain disruptions or issues.+ **Inventory Management:** Oversee the inventory of materials for projects, ensuring that stock levels are optimized, and materials are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle. Perform regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.+ **Cost & Budget Control:** Monitor material costs and project budgets, identify opportunities for cost-saving measures, and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve material efficiency.+ **Process Improvement:** Identify opportunities to streamline material handling processes, improve workflows, and reduce bottlenecks, ensuring smoother execution of projects. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work with other departments, such as engineering, quality assurance, logistics, and production, to ensure materials meet project specifications and are delivered on time.+ **Reporting & Documentation:** Prepare detailed reports on material usage, procurement status, and project progress. Provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders on project material management.+ **Risk Management:** Proactively identify potential material shortages, delays, or quality issues that may impact project timelines. Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.**Required Qualifications**+ Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college, or Technical / Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience, or High School diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing material flow management.**Desired Characteristics**+ Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
