Materials Stockroom Handler - Delta Health : Job Details

DescriptionUnder direction of the Director of Materials Management, carries out functions of the Materials Management Department according to the department policies and procedures, functioning within the limitations of job scope. Responsible for receiving, shelf restocking, departmental issuing, and reconciling of all stock and non-stock supplies and equipment. Responsible for the cost efficient, timely, and proper delivery of all supplies and equipment. Verifies and keys in daily issues and receipts on computer, verifies the price with vendors, and updates as necessary upon approval. Position Responsibilities:

• Assist hospital staff in navigating the inventory storeroom and check out process.
• Keys in department issues daily.
• Responsible for monitoring all material transactions for inventory storeroom; including daily issuances.
• Assists in materials management in multiple facility locations.
• Assists in placing orders as needed.
• Responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies and other related inventory errors.
• Aid in determining appropriate vendor for supply and research all necessary supply substitutes.
• Assists with inventory orders as needed.
• Inventories and restocks, to established par levels, various departments per schedule (or as needed in an emergency).
• Be of service to shipping and receiving clerk
• Participates in yearly inventory count and posting process.
• All other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Must be kind, courteous, energetic, and eager to serve the hospital staff.
• Must be comfortable in a fast paced, high energy environment.
• A good knowledge of various medical/surgical supplies and equipment preferred.
• Ability to operate 10 key calculator proficiently required.
• Previous experience in inventory control preferred.
• Must have clerical and communication skills, and have the ability to represent the department in a professional manner.
