This position lets you build and nurture relationships with community partners, affordable developers, realtors, nonprofits, and policymakers to expand and preserve affordable housing options. You'll be a key player in fostering community partnerships, researching housing solutions, and providing insightful policy recommendations to make a real difference for our residents. The mayor's housing advisor coordinates with the mayor's office and city departments regarding the city's strategic housing initiatives. This position works under general direction and specifically serves as a business relationship manager to developers, realtors, property managers, landlords, and builders to expand, build, and preserve affordable and supportive housing options.This position is designated as At-Will. Essential Functions Builds and maintains positive relationships with community partners and seeks alignment among diverse stakeholders related to housing. Actively reaches out to the development community and other stakeholders to educate them on current city programs and obtain feedback related to increasing and preserving affordable housing. Researches, analyzes, and develops recommendations for growing affordable housing options. Provides a strategic perspective on policy and makes recommendations to the mayor and other senior staff. Seeks to resolve problems and create innovative ideas related to housing through collaborative teamwork, both internally and in the community. Supports the implementation of the 'Home for Everyone' strategic plan. Establishes priorities, goals, projects, and outcomes for strategic initiatives related to stakeholder relationships in housing. Advises and updates the mayor's office, key city leaders, and city departments on related programs that affect the city. Seeks to resolve problems and create innovative ideas through collaborative teamwork from all levels of government and the community. Ensures the best program recommendations come before the mayor. Develops and helps maintain positive working relationships with the community, business organizations, residents, non-profit organizations, and governmental agencies.
