MCSO Retention Specialist
Salary Range: $60,720-$75,900
This is a salary exempt position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant's salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirements for the job.

Position Summary
MCSO Retention Specialist will be a dedicated professional focused on employee engagement and retention within the Sheriff's Office. Implements strategies to enhance job satisfaction, assess employee needs, and provides support to reduce turnover. Collaborates with leadership to identify and implement retention initiatives, providing support and resources for staff development.
* Devise and implement comprehensive retention strategies tailored to the specific challenges and dynamics within the Sheriff's Office.
* Collaborate with leadership to analyze turnover trends and develop targeted interventions.
* Plan, coordinate, and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and camaraderie.
* Create and maintain programs to enhance employee engagement, job satisfaction, and overall well-being.
* Organize events, workshops, and activities that contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
* Collect and analyze data related to retention, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
* Conduct exit interviews with departing personnel to gather insights and identify areas for improvement and monitor trends.
* Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to recommend policy changes that can positively impact retention.
* Provide mentoring and support services to officers and staff to address job-related issues.
* Develop and conduct employee engagement surveys.
* Maintain contact with new recruits and employees.
Qualifications: Proven experience in a retention focused role with a focus on corrections or similar environments. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources, Psychology, Criminal Justice or a related field.
