Works closely with all Line Operators and inspectors. Safely performs position specific responsibilities to ensure a high level of productivity, quality and internal and external customer service. Adheres to all relevant company policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends process improvements to streamline and increase efficiency of existing programs. Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Work from work orders, drawings, specifications, manual, and written and verbal instructions to accomplish necessary work with minimum interference to production
- Ability to follow and execute departmental work schedules
- Setup and adjust equipment for size and product change overs
- Maintain and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and all other production and service systems
- Tear down, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace all worn or defective parts; reassemble parts and adjust for proper operation
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, and service to insure safe and proper operation conditions
- Use lift equipment as necessary to move and position parts and materials; use care to life and balance loads and operate equipment in a safe manner
- Complete required weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance reports and record them
- Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials
- Understand and manage spare parts inventory system. Knows when to request the purchase of spare parts and equipment.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition
- Perform other duties as assigned in order to promote success and meet deadlines within the Ink dept
RequirementsExperience and Education
- High school diploma / GED equivalent; Trade or Vocational school preferred, but not required.
- Good math, mechanical, and deductive reasoning skills are required
- Must be able to communicate with other team members and supervisors across the company
- 3 months - 1 year experience in production equipment mechanics required. Specific experience with turntables, conveyor systems, bottle packing machinery, filling equipment, electric heat tunnels, transfer pumps, and ink jets is preferred
- Previous experience working from prints and diagrams preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace electrical systems is preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
- Proven time management skills
