Fischione Instruments is seeking a full-time Mechanical Assembler at our manufacturing facility located in Export, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of our laboratory and specimen preparation products. Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test small assemblies involving many parts; alignment, surface finish, precision tolerance of parts, and appearance
  • Use lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other tools to fit and size parts
  • Assemble parts while using eye loupes and microscopes
  • Clean and prepare parts for assembly
  • Bond parts using solder or adhesives
  • Inspect parts and assemblies using micrometers, indicators, an optical comparator, and a measuring microscope
  • Assist in packing and shipping products
  • Maintain orderly work area, machines, and equipment
  • Meet production schedule requirements
  • Provide feedback to the Manufacturing and Engineering departments, as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical school or machining apprenticeship is desirable
  • At least five years of mechanical experience is required; 10 years of experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with requirements for parts used in vacuum is desirable
  • Valid driver's license
  • Familiarity with redlining changes to drawing for later review
Physical requirements
  • Regularly required to: stand, walk, sit (sometimes for extended periods); use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and see
  • Observe, feel, and handle small objects
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; the ability to adjust focus; perform some tasks while using a stereo or digital microscope
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a background check and a drug test
