Position Summary

Assemble and test computer systems, sub-assemblies and parts using assembly drawings, pictures, procedures, and verbal instruction. Performs first prototype build assembly, devises design for manufacturability documentation, creates procedures and writes work instructions on new products and engineering proto-types.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform 1st build, Proto, Pilot and production assembly duties.
  • Creates 1st build documents, work instructions, pictures and processes.
  • Liaison with Mfg. build teams with Pilot and production builds.
  • Trains manufacturing personal on new products and processes
  • Designs manufacturing cells and assembly processes for new and existing products.
  • Perform functional test on assemblies per drawings and procedures.
  • Make recommendations for changes and update procedures as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist with root cause analysis to identify corrective actions for products and production systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required

  • Technical School Diploma – Mech Electronics or Mech Assembly
  • 8-10 years' electrical/mechanical assembly experience.
  • Technical Writing experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding of MRP Systems & processes
  • Use of electronic & pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Six Sigma - Lean Training or exposure
  • Product defect analysis & reporting
  • Forklift experience
  • Metal Shop/Rework experience

Desired

  • Technical School degree or Assoc Degree – Mech Engineering
  • 10-15 years' electrical/mechanical assembly and test experience
  • Technical Writing experience
  • CAD design - Mech Eng
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Understanding of MRP Systems & processes
  • Use of electronic & pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, etc.
  • Green Belt – Six Sigma
  • Write Failure Analysis reports
  • Forklift experience
  • Metal Shop/Fabrication experience
