Mechanical Design Engineer Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for various construction projects. This role will require a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, as well as the ability to use design software such as AutoCAD and Revit. The ideal candidate will have experience in HVAC and plumbing systems, as well as MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) coordination.Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to design and develop mechanical systems for construction projects
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure MEP coordination and integration
  • Create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Conduct calculations and analysis to determine system efficiency and performance
  • Identify and resolve any design issues or conflicts that may arise during the construction process
  • Stay up-to-date on industry codes, standards, and best practices for mechanical design
  • Work closely with other engineers and technicians to review and approve designs
  • Participate in on-site visits to ensure design specifications are being met
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems design
  • Familiarity with MEP coordination
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and IPC
