We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support to systems, designs and project solutions for electrical trades.
Team size and skills: 6 individuals various skills including technical writing, architectural, electrical load calculations, HVAC and electrical equipment selection and sizing, code review, construction document review, general controls knowledge and other related construction understanding. The team supports our Electronic Systems division which incorporates our New England (NH and MA sites), East (NY, mid-Atlantic, MD/VA, AL, FL) and West (TX, IN, IA, HI, CA) regions. We will handle the oversight (not project management) of over $75 million in capital improvements annually.
1. Develop standard specifications and details for projects
2. Develop design concept with Facilities Project Managers (PM) to allow PM to improve on initial estimating for systems and building infrastructure. Attain individual building knowledge to support.
3. Oversee and perform technical review of construction documents from inside and outside design sources
4. Review, train personnel and update documents annually with latest code, standards and ordinance updates from applicable sources
5. Assess equipment and develop a plan to improve the Life Cycle Management (LCM) towards more efficient/sustainable approaches to equipment life and energy usage
6. Work with Sustainability team to select equipment approach for a building or campus and perform projected return on investment for presentation
7. Develop US standard site specification with site specific appendices. Work with Plant Managers and their team to understand and incorporate their site equipment and processes in the documents
8. Work with PM to adhere to NetZero 2030 goals. Report to Manager with metrics.
9. Collaborate across multiple functions to drive alignment to current and future project plans, & designs to ensure priorities and results are achieved.
10. Drive continuous improvements both at the site level and in coordination with other sites at the ES level.
11. Report to Manager on current projects via updated status bi-weekly and quarterly
12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by Manager.
13. Coordinate with Cx responsibilities
14. Collaborate on standard record Sequence of Operations including ASHRAE 36 best practices.
15. Report to Manager with metrics.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ 12 years of construction design experience and Professional Engineer's (P.E.) license or 16 years of construction design experience without the P.E. license
+ Demonstrated partnership and collaboration skills across business areas.
+ Experience communicating with peers, project teams and senior leadership as a leader/expert in your field.
+ Technical writing and reports as lead author
+ Review of systems and analysis as principal engineer
+ Owner's representative or similar role within organization with understanding of budgeting for multi-trade construction projects
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft 365 platform, Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Power Point
+ Working knowledge of building infrastructure and support systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and fire protection systems.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
2. Experience in execution of large-scale, multi-year capital improvement projects
3. Demonstrated success developing direct reports through effective leadership and the setting of realistic but challenging goals
4. Experience with construction and renovation projects within the aerospace and defense industry requiring adherence to specific Intelligence Community Documents (ICDs) and DoD construction standards. HVAC, plumbing and process piping installation/design.
5. Proficiency with construction design software solutions such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Trane Trace or equivalent HVAC calculation software
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
