We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth.Position Summary:Under the direction of the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Lead Project Engineers, this position will support our Darien, WI and Beloit, WI facilities. The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for new product development and implementation and must demonstrate high levels of technical skill and experience related to the application of their discipline.While this role can be based in Itasca, IL, the first month of training will be in Wisconsin (Darien & Beloit) and will require occasional travel to those facilities after the initial training.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Performs assignments of a complex nature requiring a high degree of technical competence while planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects related to power generation enclosure systems design.Conceives and plans projects to explore and resolve product or process problems, defines and selects new concepts and approaches to the design or development of new or improved products, equipment, or processes.Consolidates and presents results of design reviews of major projects to members of the engineering group.Provide technical guidance and act as a mentor to less experienced engineers, designers, and technicians.Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and bills of materials using the release process.Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.All other duties assigned by Management.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of applicable experience including direct involvement in the design and manufacturing of mechanical systems used in the power generation industry.Proficiency with computers and computer tools (MS Office, SolidWorks, etc.).Possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.Good verbal and written communication skills.A solid understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal forming, and fabrication.Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Power Solutions International/3Pi is an EOE disability/vet company offering a drug-free workplace.
