Positional Overview
In this role, the engineer will manage various aspects of engineering tasks under the guidance of a manager. The position involves a diverse set of technical responsibilities that require applying engineering methods and practices relevant to the work. Key duties include diagnosing issues, assessing systems, and creating solutions for mechanical components and systems
Role & Responsibility:
- Requires a solid understanding of core engineering concepts and practical knowledge within the relevant area of expertise. A strong grasp of experimental measurement theory, instrumentation, and techniques is essential.
- Must be knowledgeable about DOE engineering requirements and capable of adhering to implementation protocols effectively.
- Possesses advanced engineering expertise necessary for handling complex assignments and is proficient in using standard software applications, with strong verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational abilities.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and managing resources in line with DOE requirements, as well as broader corporate policies and procedures. Demonstrates leadership in developing and executing strategies with direct accountability to management.
- Ability to work independently under guidance, demonstrating technical proficiency in complex engineering activities, and capable of recommending system and procedural improvements. May serve as a lead or technical expert, directing others, managing special projects, creating procedures, and providing mentorship.
- Demonstrates innovative thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to independently evaluate, choose, and adapt standard engineering methods, ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of the final solutions.
- Shows proficiency in communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively share information, solve issues, and coordinate tasks.
- Capable of using independent judgment to perform and analyze a variety of work tasks involving diverse and unrelated processes, identifying and solving issues.
- Able to address and resolve critical challenges, define new theories, or develop solutions based on industry standards and practices.
- Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, and may present information to various audiences. Capable of motivating, leading, or guiding individuals and teams according to engineering principles and standards.
Skills & Experience:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- At least three (3) years of professional engineering experience. A graduate degree in engineering may be considered as a substitute for some of the required experience.
- Diagnose, assess, and create solutions for mechanical systems and components, including but not limited to HVAC/ventilation, pneumatic systems, water/piping networks, and demolition processes.
- Analyze and devise solutions for structural components, particularly those related to the demolition of the Main Plant Process Building.
- This role requires the application of engineering methods, principles, and practices relevant to the assigned area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bentley Navigator.
