Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

* Design review of chemical systems and facility infrastructure.

* Develops and/or Reviews and analyses piping system design and provides for proper pipe support and expansion.

* Provides hydraulic calculations for piping systems.

* Performs pipe stress analysis and makes recommendations.

* Prepares bill of materials and or material take offs for procurement purposes.

* Compiles appropriate information and makes recommendations for proposals to pursue that are in line with the department's objectives and recognized best practices for safety and reliability of mechanical systems.

* Supports the release of product designs to the shop floor with proper review of the design to reduce scrap and improve the assembly process.

* Assist in project-based load calculations, equipment layout and equipment support in a plant setting.

* Optimize mechanical processes to maximize profitability.

* Write and maintain plant piping and equipment specifications.

* Renders procedural service to each department from a technical and safety perspective.

* Provide mechanical reviews for Management of Change (MOC) process as needed.

* Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting existing processes.

* Recommends and compiles new policies and procedures as necessary.

* Recommends and compiles improvement methods, performance, quality of a product and suggests changes to increase efficiency.

* Creation and training on procedures to ensure accurate information is entered into the computer system.

* Performs general planning and administrative tasks associated with assigned projects; analyzes and develops or assists in development of project scopes, cost estimates and project schedules; composes, creates, completes, or maintains necessary documents, records and correspondence.

* Assists in the formation of overall objectives and procedures and provides technical and specialized functional services and recommendations for implementing them.

* Provide data gathering and communication between engineering, facilities, and manufacturing team members.

* Resolves engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information, researching, and analyzing processes; recommending solutions; preparing drawings, schematics, and diagrams.

* Uphold all MLI policies and MLI Code of Conduct.

* Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.

* Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee's commitment to ensure that the Company's actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.

* Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.

QUALIFICATIONS

* BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.

* Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.

* Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.

* Demonstrated ability to:

* Self-start and drive tasks to completion.

* Collaborate with pipe designers and engineering teams.

* Read/Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)

* Understand and navigate 3D modelling environments.

* Perform/Review load calculations: structural, pressure vessel, piping, piping support, etc.

* Perform pipe stress analysis and provide recommendations for achieving design requirements in the field.

* Experience in applicable piping codes and safety regulations i.e. ASME B31.3, API Standards.

* To work with all types of metal and plastic pipe/fittings.

* Work with trades to execute design requirements in the field.

* Effectively manage multiple priorities according to work lists and line/operation concerns.

* To work cooperatively and supportively with a broad range of individuals with different levels of education and experience.

* To manage multiple project priorities and tasks simultaneously with guidance on priority to meet established deadlines, and documentation requirements.

* Respond positively and effectively to rapidly changing priorities and departmental needs.

* Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead by example.

* Follow written and verbal instructions in English.

* Work as a team and/or independently.

* Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

* Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Industrial mechanical engineering/construction experience preferred.

* Familiar with 3D modeling and AutoCAD, or equivalent

* Basic welding and fabrication experience, knowledge preferred.

* Knowledge of PSM or certifications desired.

* Mechanical Integrity experience strongly desired.

* Familiarity with NDE methods and interpreting results desired.

* PLC knowledge and application desired.

* LEAN manufacturing experience desired.

* Project management experience desired.

* HVAC or Ventilation experience desired.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $70K-$105K

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
