Job Summary: As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems within our property. Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum, from conducting preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to responding promptly to repair requests. With a focus on maintaining a safe and efficient environment, you will collaborate closely with supervisory staff and various departments to uphold the highest standards of facility management. Key Responsibilities: - Execute preventive maintenance tasks and conduct regular inspections on building systems to identify potential issues before they escalate. - Utilize your expertise in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems efficiently. - Respond promptly to repair and service calls, addressing routine maintenance and emergency situations with precision and urgency. - Maintain accurate maintenance logs, life safety records, and proficiency in preventive maintenance and work order systems to ensure compliance and accountability. - Foster open communication channels with supervisory staff, providing timely updates on maintenance activities, assignments, and any emerging issues. - Prioritize safety as paramount, ensuring the well-being of building occupants and staff through diligent maintenance practices and adherence to safety protocols. - Collaborate with other team members to coordinate snow and ice clearing operations, contributing to the overall safety and accessibility of the property. - Demonstrate versatility by being cross-trained in various engineering roles, thereby enhancing operational flexibility and efficiency. - Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as structural repairs, plumbing fixes, electrical wiring repairs, application of preventive measures, and building painting to uphold aesthetic and functional standards. - Uphold physical capability by being able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs as needed for maintenance tasks. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational training or certifications preferred. - Demonstrated experience of 2 to 5 years in mechanical maintenance, With a strong emphasis on mechanical systems and general plumbing skills. - Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with colleagues and stakeholders. - Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. - Collaborative mindset, with the capacity to work harmoniously with diverse teams and supervisory personnel. - Valid certifications/licenses including Citywide Standpipe System (S-13), and Q01 or CFC Universal Certificate.
