Job Purpose
To define and develop products used in semiconductor systems. Position involves multiple project responsibilities from the recognition of need through project completion.
Essential Duties
1) Perform tasks in the development of new products and cost reduction.
* Participate in the development of Product Specification
* Produce conceptual designs
* Guide development process to produce practical designs
* Create detailed design drawings
* Identify applicable standards
* Provide analysis of the design to applicable standards
* Provide analysis of design using engineering analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Finite Element Analysis)
* Review instruction manuals and product literature
* Define and lead prototype development and lab and field tests
* Work with manufacturing on process development
* Conduct design reviews, safety reviews, etc.
2) Leader of small new product development projects as required.
* Complete project feasibility and Pre-Prod authorizations
* Create and maintain project schedules
* Work effectively in a team environment
* Participate in release-for-sale activities
* Provide periodic oral and written reports of project status
* Manage project to meet schedules, including:
a. Working with other team members to ensure satisfactory completion
of all steps in the development process
b. Identification and communication of issues to schedule to appropriate
management
3) Participate in the identification of new product opportunities for the
company by:
* Recognizing customer product needs
* Evaluating Graco and competitive products
* Proposing and developing proper technology to fulfill customer needs
4) Direct and perform standard product support activities such as:
* Analyzing and writing Engineering change orders for products
* Troubleshooting product problems in manufacturing, lab, or
* customer sites
* Initiating corrective action activities
5) Learn, participate in the development, and apply knowledge of:
* Stay abreast of developments in the technical field to maintain
* technical knowledge
* Product line
* Operational systems
* Company and industry design standards
* Company Quality Management System
* Company customer applications and requirements
* Emerging trends in our customers' markets
6) Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
1) BS degree in engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent as
approved by the divisional engineering management group
2) Excellent oral and written communication skills
3) Excellent engineering/technical aptitude
4) Minimum of 2 years' experience in new product development with
demonstrated ability to independently produce innovative and successful
designs
5) Ability to recognize customer product needs and trends in the market
place that affect product requirements
6) Ability to work independently, as well as, cross functionally with teams.
7) Experience with project management and creating resources necessary
track timelines.
8) Excellent time management skills
