We are seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer to be part of a fast-paced, leading robotic automation company. In this position you will play an active role as a team lead providing technical direction and mentoring for a team of engineers.Is this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.Day in the LifeCapable of promoting engineered solutions that meet both the technical and budgetary requirements of the project, contributing your expertise and collaborating effectively with your teamProficient in handling the complete design process, from initial concept development to detailed design and final reviewWork with your team to develop detailed designs and specifications for mechanical assembly and test equipmentOversee the creation of engineering drawings and documentation, adhering to industry standards and company guidelines.Stay up to date on the latest mechanical engineering technologies and trends, continuously expanding their knowledge and skills.Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure project success, fostering effective communication and teamwork.Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams, addressing design-related issues and ensuring smooth production processes.Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues, analyzing problems, and implementing effective solutions.Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.Presenting designs to customers in weekly review meetings.Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical / Electro Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience. Qualifications10 years of experience utilizing solid works designing various custom automated test and assembly machines.Experience leading teams on projects valued at 5M plusDegree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experienceProven ability to Lead a mechanical design project team.Work effectively in cross functional teams.Proficient in Solidworks CAD software including FEA simulation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong practical knowledge of mechanical design and perform engineering calculations.Knowledge of sound mechanical design principals, shop practices, and automation and test components.Skills include an intimate knowledge of SolidWorks solid modeling software, knowledge of design techniques, automation techniques and principals involved in creation of automation and test stations and machines.Solid understanding of Controls and how it interacts with the mechanical designMentoring ability and a desire to teach junior engineers and peersStrong work ethic, sense of urgency, innate sense of commitment to the task at handAttention to budgets and schedules and the profitability of the companyRespected for leadership among peers and the manufacturing groupRespected by customers and vendorsOpen to promoting positive changes within the department and throughout the companyIndependently seeks opportunities for improvementNatural leader in situations where no leader is assignedAdditional Skills a plus: Tool-making, electrical, automotive exc.Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding EnglishShould you have compensation expectations that exceed our salary range, we would love to hear from you and would welcome you to reach out to further discuss.
