Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Consultant to support the hiring process by conducting technical interviews and assessing candidates for mechanical engineering roles within a rapidly growing robotics company. The consultant will leverage their industry expertise to evaluate applicants' technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and overall suitability for the engineering team. This role is ideal for a seasoned mechanical engineer with a strong background in robotics and experience in recruitment or technical assessments.

Expected duration of this contract is 3-4 months and will have variable hours per week. This role will be mostly remote, but will need to be available to come into the office (San Francisco) on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical interviews with candidates for mechanical engineering positions.
  • Assess applicants' proficiency in mechanical design, robotics integration, materials selection, and other relevant areas.
  • Develop and refine interview questions and technical challenges to accurately evaluate candidates' competencies.
  • Provide detailed feedback and recommendations on candidates to the hiring team.
  • Collaborate with internal HR and engineering teams to align candidate evaluations with company needs and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the robotics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA), and engineering analysis tools.
  • Experience with robotics systems, automation, and mechatronics.
  • Prior experience in recruitment, interviewing, or technical assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, structured feedback and recommendations.
