Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Lead to join our growing Operations team. This position will be available at the at our Louisville, KY locationand report directly to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager. The Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Lead will have responsibility for general plant reliability, mechanical integrity and quality assurance in a high hazard operation.The successful candidate must demonstrate strong change leadership and team building skills. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site mechanical integrity and reliability program, which is aligned with corporate policies and industry standards, to optimize reliability, improve EHS performance, and support plant operation.
  • Define, implement, and maintain internal and external codes, standards, and best practices at the site level to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policy, and applicable RAGAGEPs.
  • Lead the corporate Mechanical Integrity-Quality Assurance (MI-QA) Gap Closure Initiative for the site by developing gap closure plans, status tracking, and reporting.
  • Lead and/or participate in mechanical integrity-related incident investigations, root cause analyses, and identification of failure mechanisms.
  • Act as the site subject matter expert (SME) for mechanical integrity and reliability while supporting the development, training, and mentorship of other site personnel on best practices, processes, and technical issues.
  • Champion the site Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Programs including the creation of PMs and PdMs for new or existing equipment and optimizing existing PMs and PdMs to ensure continual effectiveness.
  • Formulate a comprehensive strategy and plan for spare equipment and parts to mitigate production disruptions.
  • Ensure maintenance and reliability work management processes are effectively implemented, utilized, and improved, driving strong stewardship of activities / cost and strengthening links to business cost/earnings performance.
  • Participate in scope development and planning for major maintenance site outages and turnaround.
  • Represent Louisville on corporate reliability and maintenance networks to influence development and local implementation of corporate best practices.
  • Support and advance Organizational Health within the reliability and maintenance team.
  • This day-based position will periodically require nights and weekends to support site maintenance and operations, as well as extended work hours during planned or unplanned outages and turnarounds The following is required for this role:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
    • At least 3 years' experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or refining manufacturing industry, leading asset integrity programs.
    • Experience with US regulatory OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals.
    • Experience in industrial equipment reliability and maintenance practices, equipment design, testing, inspection, and repairs.
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with corporate, business, site management and field operations personnel.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, team building and influencing skills
    • Experience and knowledge of all API Fixed Equipment Inspection Standards (e.g., API 510, 570, 620 and 653).
    • Experience and understanding of API 571 damage mechanisms.
    • Experience and understanding of API 579-1/ASME FFS-1. The following is preferred for this role:
      • Experience in project leadership/ management and continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean).
      • Professional Reliability Certification, ex. CRE, CRP, CRL, CMRP, RE Certificate
      • Experience using SAP-PM, SAP-MM & Maintenance Work Management Systems
      • Experience in root cause investigation techniques (e.g., ABS RCA - methodology, etc)
      • Experience with Plant Condition Management Software (PCMS) for asset integrity management.
