Salary starts $41.20 (depending on experience) PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Under general supervision, performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all types of power plant equipment and structures. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Makes sound technical decisions regarding maintenance on complex mechanical equipment. Develops written troubleshooting plans to analyze malfunctions to mechanical equipment to determine and repair root cause of failures. Utilizes technical specifications and nuclear program directives to develop, review and perform maintenance, surveillance test and functional test procedures. Communicates with technicians and engineering personnel to perform maintenance and troubleshooting. Exposed to heat, dust, smoke, dirt, high noise areas, cramped work areas and a nuclear power plant environment. Works at high elevations on ladders and scaffolds. Works shift work or weekends as required. Uses, reviews and recommends revisions to procedures, prints, technical manuals and other documents as required. Coordinates activities with other plant personnel, work groups and vendors. Perform tasks inside radiological controlled areas. Maintains a level of qualifications as required by applicable ASTM and ANSI standards, and site training programs. Other duties, as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must meet ANSI. High school diploma or GED 4 years in mechanical maintenance role in an industrial setting or military role Satisfactory completion of the Maintenance Selection System Test. Must complete initial training program qualifications within two years, not to exceed 30 months (non-outage time). Must meet requirements of NRC psychological testing regulations. Must satisfactorily complete radiation safety training, including respirator qualifications. For a Machinist Knowledgeable in the operation of manually operated lathe, mill and surface grinder Knowledgeable in the operation of CNC lathe and CNC mill Knowledgeable in conversational and G-code CNC language Experience in machining, repair and maintenance of rotating equipment and valves For a Welder Knowledge of or qualified in: GTAW welding process SMAW welding process Oxy/acetylene torch cutting and brazing Plasma cutting Experience in a machining environment, or other crafts adjacent to fabrication including working with various materials to construct and assemble metal structures from blueprints and/or engineered drawings.
