PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Mechanical / Piping Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing all on-site activities during project execution, aligning these efforts with Worley's commitment to sustainable transformation. This role serves as the on-site leader, managing construction supervision, field administration, procurement, and engineering activities to ensure that project goals are met efficiently while supporting Worley's broader ambition to drive sustainability across energy, chemicals, and resource projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed within scope, on time, and adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Oversee field administration, procurement, and engineering functions, ensuring that all operations are aligned with Worley's sustainability objectives.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, contractors, and team members to ensure project activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to project teams, proactively addressing challenges and resolving issues that arise during the execution of construction projects.
  • Maintain regular communication with Worley departments and external partners to ensure smooth coordination of project efforts.
  • Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and innovation on-site, ensuring compliance with Worley's environmental and safety protocols.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare and submit reports, and ensure key project milestones are achieved.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability-driven solutions, ensuring projects reflect Worley's mission of delivering sustainable change in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL SET

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent trade qualification with significant industry experience.
  • Proven experience managing medium to large-scale construction projects, with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction site management, including field administration, procurement, and engineering processes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration among cross-functional teams and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Commitment to sustainability, with the ability to incorporate innovative, sustainable practices into construction project management.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, ensuring alignment with company policies and project objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations and environmental standards, with a focus on promoting a safe and sustainable work environment.
  • Experience working within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors is highly advantageous.
