Our client, one of the largest Automotive manufacturing companies in USA is looking for a Mechanical Technician at Warren, MI.?

Job title: Mechanical Technician 2Location: 6395 William Knudsen Road Warren MI 48092 TOP MUST HAVES:Any form of lab experience, chemistry labs/mechanical or electrical labs. Manufacturing experience has worked in this environment before.At least 5 years of experience, but flexible.Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required tasks in relation to equipment setup, operation, cleaning, testing, and process checks to ensure reliable and consistent functionality.
  • Work consistently in controlled, “clean room” environment while wearing required protective equipment.
  • Utilize Job Instruction Training process to grow combined skill set of work group.
  • Mix chemicals (liquids, powders, gases) to a specified recipe.
  • Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and required cleaning.
  • Observe equipment functionality and troubleshoot issues when needed.
  • Maintain records on work performed, analyze data collected, and report results.
  • Recommend revisions to lab process.
  • Document best practices in battery cell manufacturing processes through standardized work instructions
  • Use data collection to make well informed process improvements through corrective action.
  • Identify and eliminate operational waste through use of Lean manufacturing tools.
  • Execute problem solving techniques to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain good housekeeping, safety practices, and supplies.
  • Coordinate and exchange findings with engineering personnel outside work group
  • Properly dispose of material waste
  • Actively participate in team/group Business Plan Deployment meetings

Degree required – Associates or a representative experience (5-10 years in a relevant field)Manufacturing experience, lab experience, emission and dyno technicians seem to translate well for this roleYears of experience – at least 5 years (flexible on this because this is a newer field)Purpose of the team – battery manufacturing lab, manufacturing in a R&D lab, build protype battery cells for our client, developing that technology for large scale plants.Interaction level – run off production, multiple processes that feed in each other, essentially an assembly line but they are separated by rooms, they will be stationed to a room and usually work with 2 other technicians and 2 engineersDay to day breakdown – depends on which operation they end up in, when they first get in for the day there is a touchpoint in the morning with the team any safety things they need to discuss, and quality or responsiveness occurrences, then there will be an alignment meeting, get into the lab work, mixing station mixing wet and dry chemicals, coating station long roll of foil, assembly room where there is a lot of machines that process material it in different ways general material movement and machine operation, then they move to a formation/electrical spaceThis contractor will be in the same room every day, they try to get them to move and get them rotated into different rooms, but want to get someone fully trained in one area before they move or expandThis need is for the coating room – applying the mixture to the foil, spraying itSoft skills – being able to time manage, working with a team, quality/safety orientationNice to have - roll to roll experience which is tape, film, manufacturer ?Nice to have - Troubleshooting ability or PLC or experience with pneumatics or hydraulics?
