Mechanisms Engineer - Texas
EVONA has partnered with a leading Satellite development organization based in Texas.
The successful Engineer will be responsible for development of assembly, integration, and test of various space-flight mechanisms for the deployment of a satellite constellation.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in iterative mechanism design improvements based upon their findings in test and production
- Perform tests and lead test teams. Develop testing requirements, materials, processes, and tooling (vibration, shock, TVAC, assembly).
- Participate in and execute design, analysis, and system trade studies to determine mechanism AI&T at system and spacecraft levels in terms of workflow simplicity, efficiency of handling and integration, test accommodation, and production speed.
- Provides inputs to Design Engineering to optimize the manufacturing flow, cost and layout, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials.
- Provides product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information; soliciting observations from operators and technicians.
- Execute design and analysis using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
- Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies and failures, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolution.
- Provides manufacturing engineering support to Production.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years previous experience as an aerospace or similar manufacturing engineer.
- Knowledge/experience of mechanism development and testing for space hardware.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers.
- Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a US citizen or have permanent resident card.
