A Hospital in Staten Island is looking to add new Medical Surgical RN's to their Per Diem pool.About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Per Diem/Part Time 1-3 12's per week, must be able to commit to at least 1-2
- Hours: 7a-730p or 7p-730a
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Care: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, medical history, and symptoms. Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment.
- Care Plan Development: Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs, collaborating with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare providers.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and technique. Monitor for side effects and patient reactions.
- Patient Monitoring & Documentation: Continuously monitor patient status and report changes to the healthcare team. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including observations and interventions.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on health conditions, post-surgical care, recovery plans, lifestyle changes, and medication management.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with doctors, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Infection Control & Safety: Follow infection prevention protocols, administer treatments in accordance with safety guidelines, and maintain a sterile environment when required.
- Discharge Planning & Follow-up: Assist in preparing patients for discharge, provide follow-up care instructions, and ensure necessary community or outpatient resources are in place.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure/Certifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical, hospital, setting is required.
