GS&F staff numbers 80+ and our roster includes major regional, national and global clients. A fiercely independent agency, GS&F takes an audience-first approach to determine the path to each client's most dramatic business potential. We expose the truth and create an experience around it with this approach.

Most importantly—GS&F is a fully employed-owned company. As a team member, you become an owner in the company.

The Media team plays a critical leadership role in establishing GS&F as a true client partner. We focus on growing brands that need a strategic partner. Our team offers clients unique, powerful and relevant paid media expertise and experience that connects with audiences to drive behavior.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Our team consists of makers, analysts, creatives, strategists, thinkers, tinkerers and more. If you are a big idea thinker, can find a nugget of wisdom in the smallest data point, are relentless in your pursuit of doing great work and are unafraid to say the tough stuff, we want you here.

We have our sights set on finding our next Paid Media leader. GS&F is looking for a Media Director to join our team. They will have their hand in shaping the strategic direction of the Media team's output and will be instrumental in helping us grow. Simply put, this individual should be highly experienced in the B2B media space, a trusted client advisor and a negotiating wizard. The right individual will have led teams previously and will be comfortable managing large paid media budgets.

The Media Director leads the media team's activities on specific client account(s), ensuring delivery of effective, innovative, and strategic solutions that maximize the client's budget. Drives overall client communication objectives and strategic direction. Partners with client(s) to develop and oversee execution of goals, directives, strategies, and media budgets. Supports and inspires the work and the media team. Reports to the Group Media Director and Managing Director.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

We believe that years of experience is just a number. However, individuals in this role typically bring 8–10 years of media experience and have held positions such as Media Supervisor, Assistant Media Director, or Media Director or similar.

Previous agency experience is preferred.

This role provides strategic leadership, fostering growth and professional development within one of the agency's two media teams. It involves close collaboration with the Director of Digital Media to ensure cohesive departmental goals and initiatives. • Leadership and Team Management: At least 5 years of experience leading and managing a team with direct reports, with a focus on cultivating individual development and career growth across varying employee levels.
  • B2B and B2C Paid Media Expertise: Extensive experience in trade media and a strong command of digital advertising platforms such as site-direct digital, streaming audio, CTV/OTT, programmatic digital out-of-home (OOH), and Google Display. Familiarity with social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Nextdoor, and YouTube, is essential.
  • Strategic and Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to focus on ROI, adapt media strategies based on campaign insights, market conditions, or product availability, and pivot as necessary.
  • Critical Thinking and Adaptability: Capacity to scale campaigns efficiently, respond to market dynamics, and leverage new media opportunities, including sponsorships.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across disciplines to deliver integrated, high-impact creative and media campaigns.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong presentation abilities, capable of transforming data into compelling stories for clients and internal stakeholders. Public speaking is a key component of the role.
  • Professionalism and Confidence: Ability to navigate tough conversations with tact while maintaining assertiveness and professionalism.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to connect media performance to broader client business objectives.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated expertise in media planning and buying tools such as DSPs/DMPs, SmartPlus, Nielsen, GfK MRI, Scarborough, SRDS, Kantar, Workamajig, and similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
