Medical and Benefits Billing Coordinator - Rockbridge Area Free Clinic : Job Details

The Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Benefits and Billing Coordinator. As a Medical Benefits and Billing Coordinator you will be pivotal in maximizing reimbursements for patient services by performing complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. This role involves reviewing claims, following up on submitted claims, and resubmitting claims after correcting inaccuracies. This position will also assist patients with billing inquiries, payment plan options and may refer patients to support services for sliding fee discounts or insurance eligibility. Additionally, the Coordinator verifies patient financial responsibilities for each visit, including co-pays and deductibles. Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in billing procedures in a healthcare facility is preferred.
• Front and back-office healthcare experience, preferably in primary care.
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certificate preferred.
