Job Title: Medical Assembler II (1st Shift)Client: Medical Device Manufacturing CompanyDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Brooklyn Park, MN 55445Shift: 1st Shift (5:00 MA to 3:30 PM)Pay rate: $20/hr Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with 1 to 2 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience.
  • In lieu of a high school diploma, must have 2 to 3 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO certified assembly experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members via telephone, email, or in person.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written work instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment and adhere to clean room practices and procedures.
  • Proficiency in performing repetitive work according to set procedures, sequence, and pace.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practice, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and processes.
  • Fine motor skills and high degree of dexterity and eye-hand coordination to assemble small parts and subassemblies using both hands.
  • Ability to operate manufacturing and measurement equipment following appropriate training, including but not limited to microscopes, test equipment, ultrasonic welders, soldering irons, calipers, pressure gauges, and rulers.
  • Basic MS Windows skills and proficiency in site-specific PC programs required for job duties following training.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the tasks associated with the Assembler I job description.
  • Assemble medical devices on two or more product lines meeting or exceeding quantity standards set by supervisors or leads.
  • Understand and adhere to Quality System Policies by referencing and explaining written line procedures.
  • Complete and maintain accurate written records of manufacturing operations on production documentation such as Device History Records, Data Sheets, and Lot Control, following appropriate training.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors or leads regarding priorities, work schedules, special assignments, job standards, and modifications due to product line and technology changes.
  • Adapt to changes in procedures and learn new procedures as required.
  • Cross-train on various product line operations as requested.
  • Assist Assembler III or Lead in training procedures as needed.
  • Apply general understanding of LEAN Manufacturing Principles to help improve established metrics.
  • Proactively report material shortages to leads or supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following housekeeping and safety guidelines, including ergonomics, job rotation, stretching exercises, tool handling, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance standards and be flexible to work overtime and varying shifts as needed.
  • Use time effectively, avoid idle conversation that disrupts others, stay in the work area during assigned times, and adhere to break schedules.
  • Volunteer in Shared Leadership activities such as Kanban Management, Calibration, and Metrics Board Maintenance.
  • Perform all other essential duties as directed.
