Position Summary Under the limited supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and limited direction of professional medical staff and physicians the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the routine health care provided to PIOCs at Columbia Correctional Institution. This position functions as a member of the Health Services Unit's (HSU) patient care team which includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners, technicians, clerical staff, and physicians, and is responsible for full performance level technical, patient-related and clerical functions in an ambulatory care setting.
Salary Information This position is in pay schedule/range 06-11 with a starting pay rate of $19.92/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all the following experience:
- Performing clerical services in a medical setting (i.e. scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, navigating electronic medical records)
- Performing patient care services (i.e. taking and recording vital signs and medical histories; preparing patients for examination; assisting with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures)
- Collecting blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens and preparing them for testing
