The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic's mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.JOB QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONFor positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with AAMA or RMA certified required. Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent) required:
  • Medical Terminology
  • Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease
  • Pharmacology
Preferred/Optional: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: NonePreferred/Optional: Healthcare experienceCERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire and one of the following:
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant registration from the American Medical Technologist (AMT)
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
